ADHD Coaching

I felt a cleaving in my mind
As if my brain had split---
I tried to match it up---
Seam by seam
But could not make them fit.
The thought behind, I strove to join
Unto the thought before
But sequence raveled out of sound
Like balls---upon a floor
Emily Dickinson (1864)

Testimonial from a Male student, age 16

I liked the personal attention I received and my coach’s genuine care for me. I admire Ms. Diane’s dedication to her job. The best part was the memory techniques she gave me. She really challenged me to use my brain in ways I previously hadn’t.

Testimonial from the Parent of a college student

Our eighteen year old son suffers from Asperger’s Syndrome, a high-functioning form of Autism. Although he is very bright and extremely creative, his mind does not work the same as the average person. Things that are readily apparent to most of us do not always seem obvious to him.

We contacted Diane after he had a rough time his first semester in college. She helped him with organizational skills and got him to communicate more effectively with his teachers. His grades have improved dramatically. Now, she is helping him with his social skills and the fine art of making friends!

Our son will have more challenges ahead, but it is reassuring to his parents to know that there is a caring adult close by who he feels comfortable with, and can turn to when he is feeling lost.

Testimonial from the Parent of an ADD son

I thought I knew a lot about the disorder before bringing my son to coaching but I understand so much more about how my son’s brain works.  I learned how to partner with my child in setting up structure at home so that he could succeed.  And how to approach the school system in getting him the help that he needs.  It’s not always easy but Diane keeps getting us back on track. He is slowly but surely progressing and I’m very grateful for the changes I see.

Testimonial from the Parent of an AD/HD son

Diane has an amazing ability to gain keen insight and very accurate perspective into her client’s background/history….and immediately so!! The manner in which Diane relates to both her client’s and their parents is very comforting and genuine.  Diane makes herself available and is always present IN the moment WITH you for your particular situation.  She becomes fully engaged and involved until all parties are satisfied.  We never felt rushed, taken for granted, etc.  Always sensed a deep compassion and eagerness to dig right in and tackle the issues in whatever capacity she was able to assist.  I also appreciate all the reading material, suggestions, strategies and intervention given to us that we could try along with the actual sessions.  Our communication was open, informal and stimulating.  We thank God our paths have crossed.  .  I can, without reservation, highly recommend Diane and her coaching program to anyone interested!!!

Testimonial from a Christopher Newport University professional staff member

ADD coaching has completely turned my life around in just a few months. Not only can I now simply shrug off mistakes or problems that would previously send me spiraling into negative self-doubt, but I can also confidently acknowledge my individual strengths and the significant contributions I make on a daily basis. I can now see myself as the truly successful person I have become. Through coaching, I have utilized many ADD coaching strategies while concurrently learning to develop my own tactics to overcome what once seemed like impossible obstacles stemming from my brain-style. With the tools that Diane has taught me, I feel 110% more prepared to tackle my personal and professional goals in the future and for that I will forever be grateful.
